Seasonal Summary: Winter 21/22
We all know winter isn’t really over, but I am trying to hurry it along because I am ready for spring. And slowly but surely, it is arriving! The weather is shifting, and I am very happy about it. I love wearing sweaters, but winter cold definitely saps my creative juices and so I wear what feels like the same thing all the time. I’m okay with that, but I do look forward to being able to comfortably experiment with my outfits.
What I Wore the Most
Red
I wore a lot of red! Red used to be my signature color (from about 2006-2009, if anyone remembers!), and while I never stopped wearing it, it definitely hasn’t dominated my closet or outfits the same way since.
Skirts and Dresses
I wanted to wear more skirts and dresses this winter, and I did! One, I made a point that I wanted to wear more dresses and skirts, and that helped. Two, I bought comfortable tights. That was really the game-changer I needed. Read more about said tights in this post.
The Same Outfit
I wore this outfit four times in three months. I want to wear the turtleneck different ways, and I have, but wow this combination is just so good. It’s comfortable, makes me feel great, has a warm layer that is removable and fits under a heavier coat, and is suitable for many activities. I could also switch out the footwear for something a little dressier if I wanted to, though clearly I love the boots.
And The Same, But Different
I don’t frequently wear the exact same outfit repeatedly, but I do frequently wear the same outfit, in a slightly different way.
Target Boots
What a find! I bought them for $39.99 at the end of November, and wore them 15 times between December first and writing this post. That’s less than $3 per wear, and it’s only going to get better (lower) because I am only going to wear them more.
Sweaters with Pants
You know it’s my go-to winter uniform! I wear the same thing, and yet totally different outfits.
Shopping List
Berets and cloches: I didn’t buy any more berets, though I did receive a cute pink bobble hat for Christmas. I still think about the orange and lemon berets.
Tights: Check!! I even wrote a post about the Sheertex tights that I purchased.
Black ankle boots: Still haven’t found, though I did get those black boots that I’ve worn frequently this winter. The hunt continues!
Sweaters: I purchased a perfect sunshine yellow sweater, and a very cute sweater with ladybugs on it. Still would like to find a green sweater, a black one, and maybe a statement/print sweater. Luckily I don’t need them (I don’t need anything, really), so it can wait until I find the right ones.
Velvet skirt: I didn’t see that much available in the silhouette I want, not to mention the color scheme and print. Another thing to have on my radar.
