Outfits of the Week: June 22-28

Monday June 22

  • Tank dress - Target

  • Yellow belt - vintage

  • Yellow flats - Rothy’s

  • White denim jacket - Pilcro

It was a hot and humid day, so a comfortable maxi dress was a good choice. I was encouraged to have a black and yellow theme because my son wanted me to match his Batman tee, and I’m always happy to oblige when he wants to coordinate.

Tuesday June 23

  • Terrazzo blouse - Target

  • White pants - Wayf

  • Beige sandals - Franco Sarto

I had the idea for wearing these pieces together recently. I decided to try it today because I didn’t have plans to go out, so if it didn’t work out, I wouldn’t be stuck in it. I think it looks light and airy. The overall blouse-iness works because there’s still waist definition. I tied the blouse because I couldn’t tuck it in (the pants are too sheer for that) and I didn’t want it loose.

Wednesday June 24

  • White crop tee - Target

  • Plaid maxi skirt - vintage

  • White sneaks - Keds

This skirt was my mother’s, but has been in my closet for at least 12 years, if not closer to 15. I folded the waistband over to make it a bit shorter, since I wanted to wear sneaks today. This outfit is a good example of a formula I’ve been wearing lately: white top (usually tee or cami) + white Keds + patterned bottom. I’m not sure when I would’ve noticed if I didn’t document my outfits.

Thursday June 25

  • Shirt dress - Maeve

  • Red sandals - J. Crew

  • Wrap belt - Ada Collection

The shirt dress is one of my favorite styled because it’s so easy for it to be great. This one has great colors. I love the way this belt tones with the greens in the dress. Ordinarily, I like to do a bright lip with it as well, but as I had errands today, a mask was the accessory of the day.

Friday June 26

  • Black wrap crop - amuse society

  • Sarong skirt - vintage

  • Black sandals - Franco Sarto

I went with something light for a very warm day! This skirt can be worn a few different ways, but this is my go-to. I did the print and the fabric is very comfortable. I forgot how much I like these sandals! (Also, I got a haircut!)

  • Maxi dress - grade & gather

  • Black sandals - Franco Sarto

  • Belt - Old Navy (circa 2003!)

I changed for dinner plans because why not? This dress is one of my favorite purchases from last summer. I hadn’t worn this specific belt this way before, but it worked quite well. The necklace is another divestment from my mother.

Saturday June 27

  • Cream blouse - gift from a friend

  • Pink jeans - Old Navy

  • Gold floral sneaks - Keds

  • Floral rain slicker - Target

This outfit was a bit warm for a hot day, but I can’t really help myself once I get an idea in my head. I like that the outfit without the jacket is light and fairly neutral, then the jacket really pops.

Sunday June 28

  • Cropped blouse - H&M

  • Orange tulip skirt - Target

  • Beige sandals - Franco Sarto

Sometimes I get dressed quickly because I’m not sure what to wear and I don’t have any inklings to lead me in a direction, and then I wear something that I’m not totally comfortable in. Which is funny because this outfit is completely comfortable. I don’t regret it, and I don’t know what I wish I’d worn instead, but something else might’ve felt better.
