Roundup: June 2020

It wasn’t reflected that much in my blog, but this month was a time of significant upheaval, especially on a national scale. It is both disheartening (that racism is ongoing and still needs to be eradicated and dismantled), but also encouraging (there have been victories on various fronts of the war for justice and liberty for all, especially two in the Supreme Court). I’ve been in my little bubble, doing more research, reading, and discussing with friends and family. It’s not easy, but it’s worth doing.

I don’t usually struggle for words (anyone who has met me would probably consider me overly verbose), but it is difficult to know what to say about what’s going on. However, there’s really not much for me to say, but so much more for me to do.

What I Posted:

There were four weeks of outfit posts (with another coming Monday).

Even though it’s barely summer, the summer season has started, and I wrote about what trends I’ve seen and what’s on my shopping list.

To go along with Pride month, I styled a rainbow of outfits. This was a lot of fun, and was a real bright spot in my week. It also showed me what colors I’m missing in my wardrobe (surprisingly, yellow is underrepresented). Also, did anyone catch my sneaky notes?

I began a series of posts with packing tips. If you enjoyed this, have any packing-related questions, or a hypothetical travel situation to pitch to me, please let me know!

I shared some of my favorite pieces from Free People and Diarrablu. (There might be a piece from Diarrablu on its way to me, so we’ll see how that goes!)

Favorite outfits:

  1. June 4 and 7: I clearly liked this outfit a lot as I wore it twice within a few days! Cute, colorful, and involved some of my favorite things - polka dots, orange, and sneakers.

  2. June 5: Another of my favorite looks. I occasionally switch up the top or shoes, but the basics remain the same.

  3. June 6: I enjoyed both the white-on-white and crop top versions of this outfit. It was so summery and fun, and the fits and proportions of the pieces made me feel great.

  4. June 9: This skirt is so much fun to wear. This whole outfit was fun, though it was a bit hot that day. I’ll definitely be repeating this.

  5. June 17: This blouse has always been one of my favorites, and I love how versatile it is. It’s fun with the pink pants (which are relatively new to my closet), two of my favorite toppers, and my best shoes.

  6. June 18: I love wearing this scarf. I’d tried it with these jeans and trench before, but the cami is new, and totally perfect with it. The white sneaks triumph again.
