I like this simple outfit, but it came about because I was having a weird day and a lot of what I wanted to wear wasn’t comfortable. This skirt might be considered vintage, as it was my mom’s and is probably from the ‘90s. It’s a piece that would also transition very well to cooler weather (I’ll admit I’m dreaming of days that don’t make me start sweating immediately).

Wednesday July 15

I hadn’t thought of pairing these shorts with this tank before, but they actually tone really well with the cool greens/teals in the print! It’s difficult to convey, but this outfit is actually a great example of how important the physical styling is. It took me a few minutes (not long, but still, dedicated time) to tuck the tank so it worked the best, and figure out the best length for each side of the knot. This outfit would be perfect with a white or blue denim jacket, but my white ones were in the wash, and I haven’t yet found the perfect blue denim jacket!

Between styling pleated skirts and my other terrazzo blouse, this combination has also been floating around my head. In cooler weather, I love this with a trench or other light jacket.

Friday July 17

Another appearance of the green shorts! I love them with this blouse. I featured it in my H&M finds and recently decided to get it. I love the colors, though I wish there were more of the red flowers on the front. The sleeves are a bit much, but I think it can be balanced with the right bottoms, and it is nice and airy for the hot weather.

It was a weird, hot day so I just wore an oversized shirt. My dad gave it to my husband, and I stole it from him. I didn’t love the look with these shorts, and then I wondered, would I prefer bike shorts with this look? I’m just not sure. I don’t think I’ve worn bike shorts since the ‘90s and I’m not sure if I can do it now.

Sunday July 19

I felt inspired to wear a little pink today, so I picked this cami. The pleated skirt is new, and in a light beige color that tones perfectly with the neutral color in the cami. The belt went with a dress of my mom’s that is no longer around, and doesn’t match any color in the top, but tones well and I like it!
