Friday Finds: Neutral Pieces

As a followup to this Wednesday’s post, today’s Finds are some neutral and basic pieces that I would use to start a neutral capsule. I was able to find some pieces that I featured in my sample capsule, as well as some pieces I’d consider.

What are your top basics?

Tops

  1. V-neck camisole: My favorite camisole, and the one I wore in my post. Currently available only in black, but hopefully J. Crew will bring more colors back.

  2. Solid Strappy Camisole: A similar option to the above that’s also available in ivory.

  3. Slim Stretch Perfect Shirt: Easy, comfortable, slightly stretchy shirt. Available in black and white, as well as some prints (which they rotate).

  4. Dillon Classic-Fit Shirt: A basic shirt in a drapey material, similar to the ones I wore in my capsule.

  5. Tissue Turtleneck: Soft and comfortable, and available in basic colors (and many fun ones as well).

  6. Cashmere Crewneck Sweater: A lovely and classic cashmere sweater, available in many different neutrals (and so many fun colors).

  7. Pilcro Alani Cashmere Mock Neck Sweater: I mean, how could I not share this, again? I love the two neutrals I have and featured in the blog post, honey and light grey. Very tempted by the dark grey and black!

Bottoms

  1. High-rise Cameron pant in four-season stretch: My favorite high-rise, fitted black pants, and the ones I wore in the post.

  2. Vintage straight pants in garment-dyed corduroy: Love these cords, which I have in the coal grey (and quartz, which is a pink that they no longer offer). I’m tempted by the black and the ivory!

  3. Pleated Skirt: I love this pleated skirt. I featured the dark beige in my post, and I have the light beige as well (and I probably need it in black). I find it runs a bit small.

  4. 10" High-Rise Skinny Jeans in Carbondale Wash Curvy: My favorite black jeans, hands down. I prefer the curvy cut.

  5. Women’s High Rise Skinny Jeans: I think these are my exact grey jeans, though the wash might be slightly updated. I’ve found them to be pretty comfortable, wash well, and definitely have gotten good cost per wear from them.

Layers

  1. Regent blazer in wool flannel: I have this blazer in charcoal (no longer available), but it looks quite lovely in the warm camel (and black of course). A slightly warmer version, but still good for different seasons.

  2. Sophie open-front sweater-blazer: An easy sweater blazer that is available in so many different neutral colors. Love with a casual look, or to make a dressy outfit seem cozier.

  3. Water-Resistant Classic Trench Coat: Classic trench that’s both stylish and practical.
