Friday Finds: J. Crew Edition

Online or in person, shopping can be overwhelming. This week, I browsed J. Crew’s website, and here’s what stands out to me.

There are many more things available, and I am biased by my own preferences. I could have found more, but I could only take so much temptation.

Tops:

  1. Silk tee - An elevated take on a tee. Not washable, but has a lovely drape and should last better.

  2. Mockneck lace - Lace tops are a classic. I love the look of the neck and cuffs on this, and the little bows. The blue is my favorite of the colors available because I love that shade of blue with black, silver, or grey. Also on sale!

  3. Margot wool sweater - Machine-washable wool! Comes in many colors.

  4. Everyday cashmere sweater - SO many colors. Whatever are your neutrals, accents, favorites, so good have.

  5. Floral button-down - I regularly haunt the Perfect Shirt selection to see what prints are new. This one would pop really well with all white, and there’s also pink, a soft red, green, yellow and blue to accent as well.

  6. Tissue turtleneck - These turtlenecks are soft and thin, which means they are comfortable and good for layering. And, much like the above sweaters, many colors!

Bottoms:

  1. Pleated short - Adorable. Has the appeal of a mini skirt without the skirt problems. I love the bright pink.

  2. White toothpick jean curvy - I am on the hunt for new white jeans, and I might give these a try.

  3. Slim wide-leg pant - Not sure about the fit; it could be nice and slouchy, or it could be just too big. The color options are fun. The yellow intrigues me.

  4. Remi pant - Bright pink pants are also on my shopping list, and this new style looks nice. The Prussian Blue might go with a blazer I have, which would be a fun suit.

  5. Officer pant - Like the wide leg pants from my Target FF, these could be terrible, or could be a fun alternative. I like the orange especially, and like how they show it styled.

  6. No. 2 pencil skirt - The pun is great, and a wonderful pencil skirt cannot be underestimated.

  7. Jungle print pencil skirt - I’ve had my eye on this skirt for a while. The colors are just so good, and I love that it’s a bit different from the florals I usually gravitate towards. I see it with an ivory sweater and an orange jacket.

  8. Floral jacquard pencil skirt - Though speaking of florals, this skirt has also been hard to resist. I have the print in a top, and I love the colors and the detail of the flowers. I love the idea of this in a mixed skirt suit, or with a jean jacket.

Other:

  1. Knit midi dress - A simple but flattering and comfortable kit dress is a wonderful thing to have in the wardrobe because they can be styled so well (add jacket, scarf, and shoes, and you’re good to go), or just worn on their own. I need one in black (the one I have currently gets too stretched out right away, which is a big no), and I like the pink too.

  2. Regent blazer - I got a regent blazer five years ago (early in my pregnancy, actually) in charcoal (no longer available, but maybe in the future), and it has been amazing. I love the fit, the lapel, and the inside pocket.

  3. Perfect rain jacket - I’m in need of a new rain jacket, and I’ve been looking at this one for a while. I’m intrigued by dazzling sun, Larkspur pink, and bright kiwi, but it might be faded mint that is on its way to my house right now.

  4. Bird of paradise earrings - A fun statement. The pink especially have an air of whimsy.

  5. Acetate hoops / mini three pack - J. Crew has a lot of acetate earrings right now, and these two are my favorites. I like the fun colors, and apparently even the large ones are light.

  6. Acetate cuff - I love a solid but light cuff. The natural appeals to be since I already have a tortoise one, but they all look nice. Also comes in slim.

  7. Fiona bootie - Simple, chic, not too pointy, kitten heel, nice shaft height.

  8. Chelsea boots - These boots look like they’d be great for a casual black boot, and I like the flat heel.

In general, I saw a lot of great new brights (J. Crew called them “sport brights”), which is fun for countering winter blahs as well as transitioning to warmer weather.
