Outfits of the Week: February 3-9

Monday February 3

  • Yellow sweater - bp

  • Polka dot pants - Anthro

  • Yellow flats - Rothy’s

  • Black and white scarf - Target

It was a chill and beautiful day today, so I wore something simple and light. These pants are incredible comfortable and chic (fourth and final pair, for those playing along at home), and the sweater tucks into them comfortably. I like the yellow balancing out the black and white.

Tuesday February 4

  • Bronze top - Target

  • Black pants - J. Crew

  • Moto jacket - lysse

  • Scarf - MoMA

  • Flax flats - Rothy’s

On this slightly wet day, I started with the bronze top today, and picked out this Jackson Pollack print scarf to go with it. The black pants are very comfortable (good for a day of driving). The light jacket was a good layer for under my puffer, as well as appropriate for wet weather on its own because this one is water-resistant. The flats add a little texture and lightness, and Rothy’s are also good for wet weather.

Wednesday February 5

  • Pink sweater - American Eagle

  • Grey jeans - Target

  • Floral scarf - Anthro

  • Yellow flats - Rothy’s

  • Black leggings - Target

  • Floral sneaks - all black

This sweater was a bright spot for a somewhat dreary day. I like it with the scarf/jeans/flats combination, but next time I wear it with this scarf, I’d do a brighter lip too.

I switched it out for leggings and sneaks for the comfy factor. These are actually the leggings from my Target finds post, and so far, they’re good! More review coming in a future post.

Thursday February 6

  • Grey sweater - Zara

  • Blue jeans - madewell

  • Studded booties - free people

  • Wave scarf - Museum of Modern Art

This is one of my go-to combinations for cool/wet days. The sweater is cozy, the jeans are comfortable, and I love both the colors and shapes together. The booties are suede, which generally is not advisable for rain, but as these are already somewhat distressed, it doesn’t bother me. The silk scarf is light, but warm, and I love the Wave painting. It has beautiful colors, including greys and blues, so it ties this outfit together.

Friday February 7

  • White turtleneck - amazon

  • Floral trousers - J. Crew

  • Yellow flats - Rothy’s

  • Green scarf - belle boutique

Friday was incredibly windy, but felt springy, so I went for floral trousers. They are very appropriate for spring (if a bit early), but are lined so they’re good for the wind. The yellow shoes pick up on the little bit of yellow in the print. The scarf does the same for the green, and the turtleneck for the white. I could see topping this with a medium blue jean jacket (which is on my shopping list for spring/summer), but today I just wore my puffer coat.

Saturday February 8

  • Yellow sweater - bp

  • Statement skirt -

  • Black belt - ada belt

  • Black boots - Steve Madden

For everyone playing along at home, this is the first appearance of this skirt following its style post! I wanted to wear the yellow flats, but it felt too cold today, so boots it was, and then a black belt to balance them. I was so tempted to wear this skirt because I went to a birthday party at the Biggs art museum, and I couldn’t resist such an appropriate skirt.

Sunday February 9

  • Pink sweater - American Eagle

  • Orange pants - J. Crew

  • Yellow flats - Rothy’s

  • Floral scarf - Anthro

My son said I should dress like a flamingo today, so I went with this sweater. This outfit is fun and bright, but also comfortable and cozy.
