Friday Finds: Autumnal Occasion Pieces

In Wednesday’s post, I talked about some points of inspiration for fall festivities, including a warm color palette and mixing shiny and cozy textures. Here are some cozy sweaters, pretty skirts, and versatile layers that you can pop into your wardrobe to spruce up your occasion dressing with an autumnal flair. It might be a little late to order for next week, but keep an eye on what you like for holiday sales and getting ready for future events. Plus, I never recommend something that I think of as a one trick pony, so these are definitely wearable beyond this season.

Cozy Sweaters

  1. Pilcro Alani Cashmere Mock Neck Sweater: Was I really going to do a sweater roundup and not mention this style again? It’s my favorite, I can’t recommend it highly enough, I want all of the colors. Honey and bright red are specifically great for autumnal occasions.

  2. Alpaca-blend crewneck sweater: This sweater looks and sounds like it’s cozy and soft. I love the way the fabrics are all heathered. Oatmeal, fuchsia, and warm chartreuse are my top picks for this season, but all of the colors look great.

  3. Athena Cropped Mock Neck Sweater: This sweater looks like a chunky cozy masterpiece. This kind of sweater would be especially fun paired with a sleek maxi skirt, or layered over a dress. Or anything, why not.

  4. Maricarmen Cable-Knit Sweater: Both color options are lovely, but I think the olive is particularly unusual because it features light colors (it looks like pink and blue or white) as well.

  5. Cashmere waffle-knit crewneck sweater in stripe: This striped waffle sweater is so fun. It would dress up with a pencil skirt, or dress down with jeans. Or sweats!

  6. Rachael Sweater: This sweater is so fun. It works for fall and winter, and works great with pants or skirts. I don’t love that the back is blank, but at least there’s still detail on the sleeves.

  7. Eris Sweater: I love textures and motifs that are reminiscent of antique furniture textiles. This would be so great with blue or ecru denim, or a neutral skirt.

  8. Pilcro Debra Cropped Sweater Jacket: This is the kind of cute and casual jacket that would be easy to wear with a cami and pants or jeans, or with a skirt or over a dress. The design is autumnal but the colors are more wintery, so it would work well for both seasons.

Pretty Skirts

  1. Pleated Skirt: Much like the first sweater above, was I really going to do any kind of a skirt roundup and not mention these again? I love the dark beige, of course, but there’s also a deep red that would be gorgeous for autumn/winter, as well as an unusual dark green.

  2. Wrinkle Look Skirt: I love this kind of color for an autumn look, but also this kind of skirt for travel because you can roll it up and don’t have to worry about wrinkles because they’re on purpose! Add a light or colorful sweater and you’re set.

  3. Velvet Skirt: Velvets are great for fall/winter occasions. This subtle green is nice for the extended holiday season as well. Pair this with a cozy sweater or a silky blouse.

  4. Satin Effect Midi Skirt: This color and texture are so stunning. Pair with a black sweater and black boots, or something with sequins, or I don’t even know what! It’s a great neutral to wear with other neutrals, or to go with a much brighter color.

  5. Dania Tulle Tie-Dye Midi Skirt: These moody colors are unusual for a festive look, but I love it. It looks like it could work well with pinks, perhaps burgundy, definitely purples. A silky blouse would look great for a fancier look, or a knit to dress it down.

  6. Farm Rio Naia Slim Midi Skirt: I tried this skirt and I was gutted that it didn’t fit me because the colors and material are great. I love the shades of reds and greens, and the cream dots. So cute and festive, but different!

  7. Farm Rio Dinah Pleated Velvet Midi Skirt: The same print in a pleated velvet! Tempted by this for the same reasons as the previous skirt, but hoping for a better fit.

  8. Farm Rio Butterflies Pleated Velvet Midi Skirt: This color palette is maybe a bit more spring than autumn, but I think it would be fun now as well, especially because it’s velvet.

Lovely Blouses

  1. Susanna Burnout Velvet Buttondown: This blouse has a beautiful texture and comes in lovely autumnal colors. It would be cute with casual pants, or go well with a dressy skirt.

  2. Pilcro Mara Relaxed Velvet Buttondown: This velvet shirt comes in a nice selection of colors, but the gold is my top pick. I love the rich colors in a classic silhouette.

  3. Yasmeen Embroidered Peasant Blouse: The bright colors in this print are fun for fall, and the textures are amazing. I love the shoulder, cuff, and piping details. How great would this be with blue or black jeans?

  4. Iris Smocked Blouse: This top is so pretty but would look great worn casually. Blue jeans would be so easy with it, but warm neutrals would be stylish as well.

  5. Audrey Quilted Tunic Blouse: Another top that works well with blue denim, but can pop more with black or gold.

  6. Shannon Swing Blouse: The brown motif feels so autumnal and it’s just so pretty.

  7. Francie Embroidered Blouse: The metallic details really add a lot to this blouse. It would be fun with light grey pants, or even cords in a neutral color.

  8. Evangeline Pintucked Blouse: This top is SO PRETTY. It works so well for autumn, but also other festive seasons (ie Christmas). It looks great as shown with black jeans, but green bottoms would work well, and it would be lovely with the right skirt.
