Autumnal Occasion Looks

Although we are still not gathering to celebrate the way we did Before, there are still zoom parties and festive meals. Why not dress up a little?

I’m not sure exactly why, but for fall, I love to mix dressy clothes - my pieces with sequins, shine, and metallic colors - with more casual ones - chunky sweaters, jeans, and jackets. Okay, I love this kind of sartorial juxtaposition year-round, but it seems to be even more appropriate in the fall.

So here are some ideas and outfit inspiration, from me to you!

Sometimes I’m feeling a certain color and use that as my starting point. Some of my favorite autumnal tones are olive greens, rusty warm reds, orange, mustard, warm pink, bronze, pewter, and burnished gold.

Try pairing a nice skirt with a chunky sweater or cozy jacket. It’s a fun contrast that’s also comfortable!

I love a dressy blouse with more casual pants, like cords or jeans, especially for a zoom gathering. Keep the interest near your face, but the rest of the look relaxed.

A dress can be switched up when topped with a chunky sweater, paired with a jacket (like a leather or shearling option), worn with a knit scarf or boots, or some combination thereof!

What are you wearing for your autumnal occasions this season?
