Seasonal Summary: Spring 2021

Is it really the end of spring? I mean, no, it’s not. Technically there are a few more weeks of spring. But this is the tail of it, and it has been so lovely. I am always grateful for spring, but this year, even more so. There was just something even more beautiful about the sunshine, the flowers and trees, the birds coming out. It definitely made me feel like being even more bright, both as a tribute to spring and to reflect my brightening spirits.

Shopping List

I did not really check anything off of my list, but I also didn’t try very hard. And that’s fine! I bought two pair of flip flops, classic black and neon. Havaiana’s are my favorite brand of flip flop, hands down.

Best Purchases

  • Ecru denim shorts from Old Navy: I love the fit, the color, and they’ve washed well. I’d call that a successful find! I will definitely wear these all the time this summer as well.

  • Chartreuse linen shirt dress from Zara: I was drawn to the color (sickeningly bright), silhouette (love a shirt dress), and material (linen is so great). I really enjoy how this dress flows and has texture when belted.

  • Polka dot skirts from Amazon: We know I love polka dots (see here and here), and pleats, so these skirts were definitely a find.

  • Floral shirt from Zara: The fit is great, the print is gorgeous. I cut off the bow, and actually have worn it as a little tie belt.

My Trends

  • Brights: Go figure! Like I mentioned above, I think I’m wearing even more bright clothes because it feels appropriate for spring, and for the hopeful feeling I have.

  • Sweaters: I did a quick count through my outfits from this season, and I think I wore a sweater about 2/3 of the time. One, I just love a good sweater, and two, now I’m not wearing winter coats over them!

  • Most worn pieces: lime cashmere sweater (7), my favorite blue jeans (10!), and white sneaks (13!!).

I hope you enjoyed that slightly different seasonal summary. I think they’ve all been a little different, actually, depending on how I’m feeling at the end of a season. Thank you for reading!
