Style & Shop: Holiday Festivities

We may have all decided that the holidays could start extra early this year (I think it’s fair!), but now it is definitely, officially festive season! Our celebrations will be different this year, but at least we can still dress up!

To feel festive, I love wearing the traditional reds, greens, but also white, silver, gold, and even pink and yellow.

Scarves are a great way to dress up and add interest to any outfit, but the right scarf can also add a seasonal element.

Plaids also feel very appropriate, whether it’s a pair of pants, a flannel, or matching pajamas.

Here are my top picks for pieces that work especially well for holiday outfits.

I usually go on and on about styling possibilities for my shopping suggestions, but while the above are all different, they have something in common. They’re all fun and festive pieces that can be worn different ways, whether it’s a blouse with jeans or a skirt, or a sweater over leggings or a dress, or a skirt with sneakers or heels. Also see my autumnal occasion look post for some other pieces that would work for winter holidays too, as well as more notes.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if you’re wearing traditional Christmas colors, or an ugly sweater, or matching pajamas, or spangles. What matters is that you feel comfortable and festive, whatever that means to you!

Stay merry and bright out there!
