Outfits of the Week: May 11-17
Monday May 11
White tee - Target
Harem pants - H&M
Yellow flats - Rothy’s
I love wearing these pants in a more styled way, but a simple tee and flats made more sense for how I was feeling. Fun fact: I bought these pants almost exactly eight years ago (about a month before graduating from college), almost got rid of them, and now love having them back in rotation.
Tuesday May 12
Yellow turtleneck - Banana Republic
Blue blazer - Halogen
Orange pants - J. Crew
Sneaks - Keds
Green purse - Cambridge Satchel Co (from my husband)
Scarf - Anthro
I was feeling celebratory for a friend’s quarantine birthday, which manifested in bright colors. I loved this combo before, and I still do. The bright white sneaks are a nice balance for the white and keep it as casual as this look can be. The scarf brings the colors together and adds even more fun.
Wednesday May 13
Terrazzo blouse - Target
Grey cords - J. Crew
Sneaks - Gola
Trench - Target
Cardigan - Alpaca International
It was fun to revisit this look. It’s very comfortable, but definitely stylish, and I switched it up throughout the day by changing my outer layer and shoes.
Thursday May 14
Tee - Firefly
Hoodie - Firefly
Grey pants - American Eagle
Flips - Old Navy
I was feeling casual and nostalgic, so I wore some of my Firefly Festival merch and comfy pants. I like the colors of the tee and hoodie, which I balanced with the grey pants (which are very soft).
Friday May 15
Hi-low dress - Target
Sandals - J. Crew
Belt - Ada Collection
This dress is special to me because I wore it on the first official date I went on with my now-husband (the summer of 2012!), so it makes me happy when I wear it. I add the belt to define my waist, as the dress just has an elastic which is not flattering on its own. The belt and sandals go with two of the colors and make the outfit bright overall.
Saturday May 16
Floral cami - J. Crew
Green pants - Jessy B
Yellow belt - vintage
Flax flats - Rothy’s
White jean jacket - Pilcro
This look is one of my favorite combinations, and was very comfortable for a warm day.
Sunday May 17
Yellow sweater - bp
Pink jeans - Old Navy
Scarf - Loft
White sneaks - Keds
Belt - Madewell
I picked this scarf to wear, then chose the sweater and jeans to go with it. The sneaks were to coordinate in comfort, and the belt brought out the black in the scarf and is functional (for pants!). What I love about this outfit is that it’s fine on its own, but the scarf makes the outfit.
