Outfits of the Week: January 27-February 2
Monday January 27
Black turtleneck - Ralph Lauren
Black pants - J. Crew
Chelsea boots - Fluevog
I don’t wear all black very often any more, but I love when I do. The slim pants balance the chunky knit sweater, and the three textures work well together.
Tuesday January 28
White with black polka dot blouse - Target
Polka dot jeans - J. Crew
Studded booties - free people
Scarf - gift
It’s spirit week at my son’s school, and today’s theme was Mix-Match. I didn’t do that exactly, but he was wearing all different stripes, so I decided to do all different dots.
Wednesday January 29
Floral dress - J. Crew
Black cashmere sweater - vintage {my great-grandma’s!}
Black tights - old
White booties - Target
Belt - Ada belt
I caught a cold so to help myself feel better, I wanted to wear a pretty outfit. Layering a sweater over a dress is a great way to make it more versatile and suitable for cooler weather.
Thursday January 30
Rainbow sweater - Anthro
Pink cords - J. Crew
Gold floral sneaks - keds
Scarf - gift
Green purse - Cambridge Satchel Co {gift from Miguel}
A repeat outfit! I find it weird that I considered not wearing this because then I’d have to post that I was repeating it so soon. But you know what? Who cares. I like this combination (it was one of my favorites for the month) and it felt perfect for wearing on a chilly day. So yes, I repeat outfits, just like everyone else.
Friday January 31
White turtleneck - amazon
Black jeans - madewell
Yellow flats - Rothy’s
Pink blazer - J. Crew
Floral scarf - Target
Yellow peacoat - J. Crew
Black and white are a great foundation for an outfit. I picked this scarf because it has a lot of colors, and I wanted to wear my peacoat because it wasn’t that cold today. The peacoat, blazer and shoes make three layers of the outfit that all work and accentuate the scarf.
Saturday February 1
Striped sweater - free people
Polka dot pants - J. Crew
Sneaks - gola
Leopard scarf - Target
When I get lazy (by which I mean tired and need something fast), I usually go with slouchy neutrals in various patterns. It’s a lot of look, but less than if there were brights involved. The scarf has all the different tones from the shoes, pants and sweater, so that ties the look together. (Yes I have more polka dot pants than the average person.)
Sunday February 2
Navy floral cami - J. Crew
Jeans - American Eagle
Booties - kelsi dagger Brooklyn
Sweater - alpaca international
This is another look with the floral cami, but more neutral. I rolled the hem of the jeans to show a little ankle/leg and balance the look of the big sweater, blouse, and boot opening.
