Friday Finds: Transitional Jackets Part One
There are so many fun kinds of jackets, and so many great options out there, that I couldn’t stop myself from sharing all of them. So all of September is going to be jackets on Fridays! So each roundup will be possibly a bit shorter than usual (maybe not a bad thing), but significantly easier to keep up with that one loooong post.
We’re starting with denim jackets, chore jackets, and trucker jackets!
As I’ve said many, many times, I love denim jackets. They’re timeless and are cute, casual toppers that work with lots of looks. Now they’re available in a range of colors and cuts. They’re great over tees and tanks in warm weather, but for fall, wear them with blouses and sweaters.
Dolman Denim Jacket: Classic medium-wash denim with dolman sleeves. Should be easier to wear over a sweater, and would look good with a narrow bottom to balance out the shoulders.
Tyler Denim Shirt Jacket: A shacket is between the weight of a shirt and a jacket, and usually looks more like a shirt. I love the medium blue, but the washed black is nice too. Looks great belted (as seen on the model). I think the contrasting belt makes the difference.
Pistola Allison Cropped Denim Jacket: Black, boxy, cropped.
Chore jackets and trucker jackets are similar in design to denim jackets, but are usually longer, with different pockets, and can be a variety of materials. Still cute, still functional, still cool.
Scotch & Soda Oversized Textured Jacket: The color makes this jacket seem light, but the bit of wool mixed with the cotton will make it a warmer layer. The texture is so lovely.
Cropped Utility Jacket: Oversized-looking in the shoulders and sleeves, but not as long as a typical utility jacket. Love the yellow, and also comes in a nice green.
Cropped Utility Denim Jacket: A bit more fitted, and in a trendy sage color!
Next week’s jacket category (jacketegory?) is bomber and aviator jackets!
