Friday Finds: Diarrablu

For the last few weeks, I have been on the hunt to broaden my horizons, starting with where I browse and shop. Diarrablu came up in an ad on social media, and I was immediately intrigued. Not only does Diarra design beautiful prints and gorgeous pieces, she and her brand have an amazing story.

Their “mission is to iterate for sustainability while highlighting the African continent’s rich colors and unique patterns through practical and versatile pieces designed using mathematical concepts or algorithms.”I recommend reading this article from Forbes and this one from Vogue for some more information, as well as their About Us page.

Since I haven’t tried any pieces (yet), I can’t speak at all to the quality or sizing. The only issue I have so far is that there aren’t enough pictures of the pieces. Here are some of my favorites from the current site offerings.

Tops

  1. Koni Baol Top: This print is great, and the top is dramatic.

  2. Sahel Camel Top: A similarly dramatic top in a gorgeous camel color.

  3. Wairu Baol Top: The Wairu top is available in a few colors. It’s a fun take on an off-the-shoulder ruffle top.

  4. Aida Wrap Top: This color is striking, and I love the look of the fabric and the slightly exaggerated sleeves.

Leer Pants

Right now, Diarrablu offers one style of pant, the Leer pant. They’re high rise, feature an elastic waist, and wide legs. There are more colors/prints than this, but these are my favorites.

  1. Zena: A cool print in neutrals. Looks cool with the open kimono.

  2. Baol: The Baol print again! Probably my favorite. Love how it’s shown with a matching wrap dress.

  3. Sokhna: Probably the most subtle of the options. The blouse it’s shown with looks great too.

  4. Ndar: The most colorful print.

Dresses

  1. Mailys Zena Dress: The Zena print, in a cool convertible dress. Also comes in Sini and Noir.

  2. Sokhna Kimono Dress: The Kimono dress could be worn open, wrapped, and/or belted. The styling with these photos is amazing. It’s available in other prints as well, and in a shorter length for a top/jacket option.

  3. Ndar Tunic Dress: A khaftan that makes a big statement. Also lovely in Sini.

  4. Walo Wrap Dress: I love a wrap dress, and this iteration in this print is just amazing. This is probably my favorite piece (and may be currently in my cart).

Other

  1. Umy Sini Convertible Jumpsuit: This is like the Mailys dress, but in jumpsuit form. I especially like the combination that goes with the Sini print, though it comes in many options.

  2. Sini Face Mask: And they make face masks from their materials! I love the idea of matching or contrasting with their pieces.

  3. Finetti Ndar Mules: I’m not really into mules, but these are cool versions. This is probably my favorite out of the prints. And I think they come with fabric to go in the small loops and then wrap around your ankles? So tempting!

  4. Sini Reversible Wool Poncho: This reversible piece is so cute and striking. I love that you could have just a bit of the print peek out for something a little more subtle, or just be bold with it.
