Wardrobe Therapy: What? Why? How?

My original plan for Your Wardrobe Therapy was to open for appointments in the summer of 2020. As we know now, that didn’t happen for reasons outside of anyone’s control. In the meantime, I’ve been trying to determine whether virtual sessions could be an effective alternative. It turns out, they are very successful! But first…

What is wardrobe therapy? It is identifying the issues with your closet, and figuring out the best solutions and habits for you. I talk more about what that means here.

Why wardrobe therapy? I like the term because wardrobe encompasses more than closet. It’s therapy for your closet and its contents, but clothing is very personal, so it can be like therapy for you too. More information can be found here.

How wardrobe therapy? Here’s where Your Wardrobe Therapy (aka me!) comes in!

Virtual Appointments

  • Sorting: go through specific pieces that you’re unsure about keeping

  • Storing: discuss ideas, techniques, and closet organizers that can help you make the most of your closet

  • Styling: the combinations, formulas, tricks, and techniques work best for you

  • Shopping: determine the parameters for your personal shopping plan

In-Home Appointments

All of the above, plus:

  • I’ll organize your closet! With enough time, I will categorize, fold, and hang the contents of your clothing in an optimal way so you get a fresh start.

  • We can do more effective styling trials, where we try out different combinations and I can show you how to use different styling techniques.

Other Information

  • The pre-appointment consultation is free! The information from your questionnaire allows me to tailor a plan for your wardrobe so I make the best use of your time.

  • You can utilize both virtual and in-home appointments!

    • Virtual appointments have more flexible availability and are good at getting groundwork done before an in-home appointment.

    • In-home appointments are the best way to get your closet organized, and for hands-on styling instruction.

  • Clients will be have access to a month of sartorial support.

    • Sartorial support allows you to ask me questions and get my opinion via text or email.

    • I will be offering sartorial support in other ways, which are still being fine-tuned. Keep up with the blog for another announcement!

  • Clients also get access to my wardrobe therapy guides (for sorting, storing, styling, and shopping), as well as access to future updates.

  • Contact me during the month of September to make an appointment, and save $10/hour if you mention “sparkly shoes.” (This was difficult to think of. Basically, let me know that you read this post.)

  • Check out some testimonials here.
