Review: Sezane

I recently ordered three pieces from Sezane! This is my first order so I was really excited about it! (I am excited about almost everything all the time, yes, but still!) The packaging was even lovely!

Jazz Jumper

I ordered the Jazz Jumper in green in size XS.

The color wasn’t quite how it looked online, which disappointed me. It’s a lovely green, but it didn’t have the vibrancy I was really looking for.

The fit didn’t work for me either. The sleeves are quite wide, but the long cuffs are not very stretchy, so I couldn’t comfortably pull the sleeves up to/around/over my elbows. It felt like they’d stretch out significantly and not have the same fit.

The bottom of the sweater wasn’t the fit I like. It either needed to be a bit shorter and wider (to drape better, like my Alani sweaters) or be gathered (like my J. Crew sweaters). The photos of the green sweater show it belted and completely tucked in, but I couldn’t comfortably wear it that way.

However, even though this sweater isn’t for me, I didn’t have issues with the sweater in and of itself. If you like this style of sweater, I think it’s worth checking out! The knit is lovely and good quality, 100% cotton.

Ann Shirt

I ordered the Ann Shirt in the Ochre/Ecru Polka Dot in size US4/FR36.

I love collared shirts, polka dots, and yellow, so I’ve been drawn to this shirt from my first time browsing the Sezane website! However, it was not for me.

The fabric is 70% cotton, 30% silk, so it’s very thin, has a nice hand, and is semi-sheer.

The yellow is a bit more orange than I like, so it doesn’t tone with some of the pieces I hoped to pair it with.

The biggest issue is the fit. I sized up two sizes to get a looser fit. And it is not loose on me. Like, if I flex my arms, I can feel the sleeves pulling a bit! I don’t know what size I would try to get a loose fit, much less an oversized fit. It is definitely a tailored shirt that is designed to fit slim, which is not what I want.

If I liked the color, I’d consider exchanging for a different size, but it’s just not meant to be.

Loulou Trousers

I ordered the Loulou Trousers in the bright green and a size 2.

The fabric is 68% Recycled polyester, 29% Viscose ECOVERO™ LENZING™, 3% Elastane. They’re pretty thick, not incredibly heavy, but definitely wearable for fall/winter/spring and not summer.

The fit is pretty good! There’s a bit of room, but it doesn’t gap as I’m standing or moving around. I wouldn’t mind if these pants were a bit more fitted, but there are belt loops, and some room is handy for tucking in tops.

They are long (I’m wearing heels in the photos below), but I’m going to see how they work with sneaks, flats, and sandals when I experiment with them. Might end up getting them shortened a little.

The color is a bit unusual for my closet, but it’s still a great and fun green, I really enjoy it, and it will be fun to color block with. I was hoping I’d be able to do a full green look with the Jazz Jumper, but not only do I not like the fit of the sweater, they aren’t the same green! Oh well.

So I’m keeping these pants! Maybe I’ll do a post where I try styling them a bunch of different ways? We’ll see!

Also, the returns process was really easy. I looked up my account, processed the return online, and was emailed my shipping label. And returns are free in the US!
