Roundup: September 2021

September flew by, much like every month this year it feels like. It was an unusual month on the blog and for me personally. My father-in-law suddenly passed away in the middle of the month, and I took time off from my post deadlines to start grieving, spend time with and support my family, and prioritize my personal life. I was disappointed to miss posts, but also was completely glad I decided to just give myself the time because I needed it. Thank you for waiting for me to return, and to anyone who reached out to offer condolences. The support has been very appreciated.

This month, I shared three posts, and I decided to include the last post from August here too because there are no rules and I can do what I want!

The month started with the seasonal introduction post because it’s a new season! The beginning of the month was definitely still summer, but now we’re fully in fall and it feels so good. Check it out for my trend notes, thoughts, and shopping list ideas.

Almost a year after the first post, I shared more thoughts on what to do with clothes that don’t fit!

What makes a good outfit? I answered this question as best I could in this post.

I only ended up sharing two Friday Finds posts so far (though there will be a third coming tomorrow!).

I really enjoyed browsing Sézane’s recent offerings.

I’d waited with bated breath for the details of Target’s latest collection (which is out now!), so check that post for my top picks. I’ll have a post (a collaboration of my own, actually, and maybe even some video!) trying on and styling some pieces in October!

To be honest, I don’t feel like doing individual breakdowns for my favorite outfits of September. Each outfit is a fun combination that made me feel extra good when I wore them. The brights, the neutrals, the comfy sweaters and fun prints brought me joy. And really, I could have added more outfits to this group. It was a successful month of style! It’s tempting to do a Style September next year where I challenge myself to go outside of my comfort zone or try new things or be really styled every day, but I don’t like rules and prefer to just wear what I want.
