Outfits of the Week: May 18-24

Monday May 18

  • White tee - Target

  • Cardigan - Moth

  • Pink trousers - Target

  • Gold floral sneaks - Keds

This outfit is a bit funky, even for me! But I dig it. It’s fun to play around with unusual combinations (cropped tee + cardigan, cropped tee + trousers) without the pressure of being seen in it. Unless, of course, you document your daily outfits...

Tuesday May 19

  • Blue sweater - Banana Republic

  • Black pants - J. Crew

  • White sneaks - Keds

I love to wear a warm sweater when it’s cool enough to be comfortable without a jacket over it. I was going to wear black jeans, but honestly these pants are more comfortable and look better with the sneakers! Also, after seeing this outfit, my son wanted to match me. So sweet.

Wednesday May 20

  • Pink sweater - American Eagle

  • Grey sweats - Target

  • Orange jacket - Cartonnier

  • Floral sneaks - allblack

Today was a purposefully chill day where we cleaned the house, and rewarded ourselves with movies and pani-pedis. A bright sweater for warmth and comfy sweats for ease of toe-painting.

Thursday May 21

  • Black sweater - J. Crew

  • Orange pants - J. Crew

  • Polka dot sneaks - madewell x veja

  • Denim jacket - pilcro

  • Stripe scarf - gift

  • Pom scarf - Anthro

So I caved and got the sneakers from my Finds at Madewell post. I couldn’t resist! And I’m glad because they’re awesome. I felt like wearing them today and wasn’t sure exactly how, so I thought I’d get pictures of a few of my options! The denim jacket is simple. The striped scarf goes well in terms of motif, but not quite as well in terms of color (the oranges aren’t great together, but it’s fine). The pom fringe scarf is definitely funky with it, but when the outfit in question already features orange pants and polka dot sneakers, would that really stop you? No.

Friday May 22

  • Black crop tank - Groceries

  • Floral trousers - J. Crew

  • White denim jacket - Pilcro

  • White sneaks - Keds

It feels like my go-to formula right now is solid top + print (usually floral) bottom + white denim jacket and white sneakers. I can’t say I’m mad at it, as it feels classic and fresh. These pants certainly have a lot going on on their own, so pairing them with basic pieces works well.

Saturday May 23

  • Sweater tee - Target

  • Palazzo pants - Hem & Thread

  • Wrap belt - Ada Collection

  • Black sandals - Franco Sarto

I picked a light outfit for enjoying a relaxing evening of a lovely day. I’ve considered this combination before, and I quite like it. I could’ve tucked or bloused the sweater more, but whatever. These pants are some of my favorites. I always said that I hated palazzo pants, but then I tried these and ate my words because I love them. They really look like a skirt, and are so comfortable. I wear them a lot in warm weather because they’re good in the heat and protect my legs from the sun.

Sunday May 24

  • Black crop tee - Target

  • Maxi skirt - Hourglass Lilly

  • Sweater blazer - moth

  • Booties - Kelsi Dagger Brooklyn

It was a nice but still slightly chilly day so I wanted to wear something light and layered so I wouldn’t be cold. This skirt features a very comfortable and flattering ruched foldover waistband. This sweater blazer was a frequent flyer a few years ago, and I forgot how much I enjoyed wearing it (I think because I don’t enjoy washing it). I wanted to wear light shoes so I opted for the booties as I liked that a bit better with the silhouette than flats or sandals, because of the blazer.
