Friday Finds: Transitional Jackets Part Two

Welcome to the second installment of the transitional jackets roundup! This week, I’m focusing on bombers and aviator jackets.

Bomber and aviator jackets are simple in silhouette, which makes them easy to wear with a lot of different looks. Bombers and aviators are essentially the same thing, and come from WWI- and WWII-era airman uniforms. They do look really cool with a great pair of aviator sunglasses or wayfarers.

Depending on the material, they can be casual, sporty, cool, or some combination thereof. I especially love a bomber in a fun color or print because that can really punch up an outfit while taking advantage of the ease of the style.

  1. MA-1 Bomber Jacket: This is an official replica of the original military bomber jackets. Alpha Industries offers a few color options, and I believe they’re reversible. Definitely one of the warmer and sturdier options.

  2. Padded Bomber Jacket: A lighter version that comes in a lot of colors. I showed sage, because I can’t resist, but there are also a lot of neutrals and a pink!

  3. Great Escape Bomber Jacket: The drawstring at the bottom means that you can adjust the bottom of the shirt’s shape. I like the silky look of the fabric and the olive color.

  1. Alyxa Quilted Jacket: This statement jacket would look great with a black top, grey pants, and red lipstick. Or over a cream dress with red shoes. Or a lot of different ways! (On sale for $76.80 from $128, for a limited time, I think just this weekend!)

  2. Forrest Quilted Jacket: This is a more subtle print that would be lovely with blue (especially denim), olive, soft pinks, and creamy neutrals.

  3. Mike Jacket: I’m pretty sure I featured this jacket in my Sézane finds, and I still think it’s very cool! This pops well against black, goes well with mustards, and even shades of sage.

Next Friday’s jacketegory is blazers!
