Friday Finds: Target Edition

Online or in person, shopping can be overwhelming. This week, I browsed Target’s website (because I love the Target), and here are some pieces with potential.

There are many more things available, and I am biased by my own preferences. I could have found more, but I could only take so much temptation.

Tops:

  1. Floral V-neck plus - The colors in this print are great. Light pants + black belt + camel trench + coral lip = done. Black skirt + cream sweater + color flats = done. I could go on.

  2. High-neck peplum plus- The dove grey and orangey red are two of my favorite colors in general, but especially for autumn. This one may be a little frilly, but not terribly much. They also seem to have a little metallic thread detail, which could be nice. Peplum tops look so lovely over slim pants and pencil skirts, with a belt to emphasize the slimmest part of the waist while deemphasizing what’s under it (especially good for when you’re feeling bloated or don’t want something tight or tucked).

  3. Floral pleated plus - This is the floral blouse I wore in Monday’s outfit post, in plus size! Between the colors, the print, and the pleats, it has been one of my favorite tops. Highly recommend.

  4. Collared button-front crop - Is this top potentially too cute? Yes. But it might be just the right amount of cute. If so, it would look really nice (in an especially vintage way) with A-line skirts that hit right at the waist where the shirt is cropped, meaning it wouldn’t have to be tucked.

  5. Metallic tie-neck plus - Metallics can be interesting while also neutral, and this top is fairly basic. It might be horrible, but it might be a pleasant surprise.

Bottoms:

  1. Pleated skirt plus - This skirt in cream has been on my back burner for months. It’s bold and subtle at the same time. It’s good quality with a solid yet comfortable waist, nice length, and beautiful movement. The red looks lovely too, but the cream works better for me, personally.

  2. Velvet pleated plus - I love the blush, and the blue looks like it has a beautiful, almost metallic quality. These would look great in the winter (because velvet), but still transition well through spring, because they’re not actually very heavy.

  3. Zip ankle leggings plus - Full disclosure: I don’t wear leggings outside of the gym. However. I may make an exception for these. If the rise and fit are right, these could look really chic while still being comfortable.

  4. Split front pants plus - Similar to the above. The cream is more likely to make it to my cart because I’d get more wear out of it, though the black and white print looks great too. The name says mid-rise, but the description says 11.25” rise, which is definitely high.

  5. Wide pants plus - A polarizing style that either works or doesn’t. I’m not sure what it is exactly about these pants that intrigues me, but if they fit well (rise hit at the right place, length to the ankle, flattering to the butt), they could be a good alternative to tight/skinny pants. It’s fun to mix up silhouettes a bit.

  6. Baggy cargo pants plus - Is it the color? Is it because they’re kinda weird? Is it because I grew up in the ‘90s? Whatever it is, I can’t deny that these pants have caught my eye and I wouldn’t mind trying them on. I also just love pink pants.

Dresses:

  1. Tiered mini - I prefer the black dotty option. The silhouette looks more appropriate for warm weather (with sandals, a cute hat, possibly a scarf or cropped jacket), but it could work with tights, tall boots, and a beret as well.

  2. Solid tiered mini - I’ve been on the lookout for a floaty white dress for summer, and this is a strong contender. It would be cute on its own, but I really see it with ankle strap sandals, a jean jacket, and a straw hat.

  3. Ribbed tank - A neutral tank dress with a good fit is a wardrobe workhorse. If this is one of your colors and it works for you, what a find.

  4. Ribbed A-line plus - This is probably at the top of my “I keep looking at it and want it in all three colors” list. It’s the kind of dress that should be comfortable, flattering, and incredibly versatile. I need to stop writing about it before it goes from the cart to my closet.

Other:

  1. Floral bandana scarf - A great pop of print to go with blue jeans and a cream sweater. Bonus if yellow or coral are your colors.

  2. Floral rectangle scarf - A slightly dressier scarf than a bandana, but similar function. This would work especially well with many shades of green, yellow, even camel or khaki.

  3. Geo print silk scarf - I’ll write about it in a more dedicated post sometime, but I regularly search for silk scarves at Target because they’re pretty good quality and usually well-priced. This one would look great with a classic tan trench + white blouse + black pants combo, among other things.

  4. Floral print silk scarf - The same goes for this one, just floral and with yellow, rust, and grey in the mix.

  5. THE floral scarf - It’s the print from Monday’s post again. I’ll admit that I have this scarf too. It’s lovely. The color combinations are just too great. If you enjoy wearing green, yellow, blue, grey, white, or black, you will enjoy this scarf.

  6. Black floral silk scarf - I also have this scarf in the black floral color way. It may or may not be featured in a different blog post already. Only time will tell.

Where should I comb through next?
