Friday Finds: J. Crew - Summer

Today, I’m revisiting J. Crew for some of their summery options. They have some great sales going on right now, with a lot of markdowns and additional 30% off sale styles (code SHOPSALE). Their membership program is pretty nice and gets you free shipping and rewards, though you still have to pay for returns.

I had a few more pieces picked out when I assembled the list, and they’ve already sold out, so I hope what I share is still available!

Tops & Jackets

  1. Drapey Scoopneck Top: This is a nice top for spring and summer. Good for tucking in to shorts or skirts. Simple enough to go with something busy, but looks great casually with denim shorts. And it comes in a few nice colors!

  2. Crewneck Beach Sweater: A long-sleeve sweater doesn’t seem summery, but a light knit can be a very comfortable layer. This one comes in neutrals, but also a great papaya.

  3. Denim Jacket in White: Can’t go wrong with a white jean jacket! I wear mine an almost embarrassing amount in spring and summer.

  4. Parke Blazer in Stretch Linen: A linen blazer doesn’t work in the absolute hottest weather, but is surprisingly comfortable if one must wear such a layer. I love the brilliant sunset and golden sun options, though neutrals are always nice.

Bottoms

  1. Seaside Short in Linen Blend: A rainbow of colored shorts in linen! Very comfortable for hot weather and good for a cute but casual look. There are also a lot of positive reviews that help with size selection too.

  2. High-Rise Pleated Pants in Linen Blend: These remind me a bit of the white pants I tried on in Wednesday’s post, but somewhat different cut (not as tapered). The pleats at the top are nice. Depending on the length, it would be possible to cuff them to taper the silhouette yourself. White and black are great options, though of course I like the brilliant sunset as well.

  3. Drawstring Pant in Rainbow Stripe: A bright pant is fun for warm weather. Add a basic top, sandals, a hat, and you’re set. Would also be cute with a jean jacket, a bright lip, and turquoise jewelry.

  4. Kickout Crop Pant in Paisley Floral: I love this print! It’s colorful and textured. Should be cute with sandals, flats, sneaks or heels, and with a simple top, a cute cropped jacket, or a colorful trench. And you can’t beat the price right now ($50 when originally $118)! Please tell me I don’t need any more printed pants.

Dresses

  1. Tiered Cotton Voile Dress in Stripe: A bright and stripey version of a summery dress. Described as being a cover-up or worn on its own. Like many things, very cute with a jean jacket! Style simply.

  2. Swingy Cover-Up Dress in Painted Floral: Another cover-up that would be cute on its own. Another piece to wear simply in hot weather.

  3. V-Back Dress in Micro Meadow Print: Add a belt, some sandals, and bring a denim jacket and a hat, just in case. So many colors to accent.

  4. Blazer Dress in Bi-Stretch Cotton: This dress looks like such a great summery but still worky piece. With espadrilles and a woven bag.

Accessories

  1. Mini-Bead Hoop Earrings: I love a bright earring that has a lot of colors. It would be a great pop with all neutrals, or all solids. Blue jeans, white top, bright sandals, and these earrings.

  2. Packable Straw Hat / Wide-Brim: Hats are a practical and cute accessory for warm, sunny weather. I have the regular straw version, and I can verify that it is packable. The wide would be nice for more coverage and, according to reviews, has some wire around the brim for shaping it.
