Mom Outfit Inspo for Spring

What is a mom outfit? Any outfit worn by a female parent figure. But okay, that accurate yet unhelpful definition aside, a mom outfit is one worn for comfort and function when raising children, handling related tasks, and just living. I’d like to add cute or stylish to the criteria as well, because we (did you know I’m a mom?) deserve to feel that way!

Jeans:

With a tee: add a cute jacket or pair of fun shoes (or both!) to add interest. Also try switching up the color denim!

With a blouse: a great blouse should be just as comfortable as a t-shirt! With the added element of a bit of style and personality.

With a sweater or sweatshirt: I love to add a scarf to a sweater, and coordinate my shoes too. A sweatshirt with nice colors, a design or pattern is cute and comfortable.

The jeans can be switched out for pants because, like a blouse, a great pair of pants should be just as comfortable as jeans! Think trousers, joggers, cords, etc. Experiment with color and print. The possibilities are endless!

Shacket:

Update your basic jeans and tank look with a printed button down as a shacket.

It looks casual but fun. The print adds interest and style, as well as colors you can reference with your denim, top, and footwear. Above, I picked silver sneakers to go with the silver snaps, and neutral sandals to tone with the neutral top and neutrals in the shacket.

Midi-maxi skirt or dress:

Skirt and dress length is personal preference, I just know that I feel more comfortable in a slightly longer length because I can run after my son without flashing everyone when the skirt inevitably hikes up.

I love a jersey skirt like the ones I’m wearing above because they are soft, comfortable, but still look nice. Can be paired with a tee or tank, a blouse or shirt, a sweater or sweatshirt, any top! Layer with a sweater, cardigan or jacket for warmth if necessary.

Other Thoughts:

Try your favorite basics in a new color or print. It’s my favorite way to wear the same thing, but get something new out of the experience. Like the saying goes, if the shoe fits, buy it in every color.

These options can work with sandals, flip flops, flats, sneakers, or even heels! Switching around footwear is a good way to transition from your day look to evening activities.
