It was my 31st birthday yesterday! To celebrate, I wanted to write about 31 of my favorite things from my closet.

• 1 - Floral button down: This shirt has such great colors, a beautiful mix of floral and abstract, and cool construction details. It’s from the 2013 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target collection.

• 2 - Great-grandma’s jacket: My great-grandmother was very stylish, and I love that I have a few pieces of hers. This jacket is so amazing and can’t be replicated.

• 3 - Black pants: My favorite trouser-y pant.

• 4 - Nude pumps: These were my mom’s, and I am so glad she stopped wearing them so I could wear them all the time.

• 5 - Floral pleated blouse: This top is so comfortable, pretty, and I can wear it so many ways. I even got a matching scarf!

• 6 - Yellow suede jacket: I got this for my 29th birthday, and it’s like a cold weather version of the denim jacket. I adore it, even if it smells like erasers.

• 7 - Pilcro sweaters: Tried this in two colors, loved them, bought a third, want a fourth. So comfortable and easy to style, I have to stop myself from wearing one every day.

• ** Orange pants: I actually bought these pants first in orange, and then in black because they were so great.

• 8 - Polka dot sneaks: A recent addition, I love them. They’re so cool and fun.

• 9 - Navy floral cami: I surprised myself when I ordered this because I don’t wear navy. The mix of colors is so great and it brings me joy when I wear it.

• 10 - Blue Madewell jeans: So comfortable and the fit is fantastic.

• 11 - Alpaca sweater: My husband got me this sweater for Christmas in 2016, and it has been a staple ever since.

• 12 - White keds: I thought about these shoes for so long, and now that I have them, I wear them all the time. I might have to get another pair so I can have a ~fresh~ pair and a pair that I’m okay with wearing on wet days and walks.

• 13 - Floral skirt: Not only is this a beautiful and unusual skirt, but my brother bought it for me when he was on a trip in Japan while I was in high school.

• 14 - Rothy’s points: As I’ve previously discussed, I wear these a lot and love them.

• 15 - Pleated skirts: These skirts are so versatile and I love the three colors I have. I check frequently to see what other colors there are.

• 16 - Wrap belts: A black wrap belt is one of my favorite accessories, and a colorful wrap belt is a fun accent for the closet.

• 17 - Camel trench: I had trench coats before this one, but I feel like this one changed the game for me, made trenches feel more wearable, and gave me ideas for styling the trenches I already had.

• 18 - Sheep coat: This coat is so over the top, and yet so classic. And so warm!

• 19 - Yellow floral dress: This dress is so flattering and I love the yellow. I’ve had it for seven years.

• 20 - Navy floral shirt dress: I love this silhouette of dress, and the print and colors are so lovely.

• 21 - Striped Henley shirt dress: This dress just makes me feel good.

• 22 - Floral pompom scarf: The color scheme, floral print, and black and white pattern are such a fun combination.

• 23 - Yellow jean jacket: This was my first denim jacket, and my first yellow piece. I bought it in early spring or 2013 and it still brings me joy.

• 24 - Green purse: My husband got me this purse for Christmas in 2014, I think, and I absolutely love it. It is embossed with my full initials (MCKVI). I have received so many compliments on it, and on my husband for his taste.

Not pictured:

• 25 - Black ankle strap heels: My then-boyfriend now-husband gave me these for my 24th birthday! Wow.

• 26 - Ray bans: I bought the folding wayfarers in my senior year of college, and I still love them.

• 27 - Pearl earrings: These were a Mother’s Day gift a few years ago (2016 or 2017) and I wear them so much. They’re subtle, but I love that my current haircut makes them stand out more. I’m actually wearing them in the pictures, but I didn’t do a close-up.

• 28 - Family rings: I have a collection of rings that belonged to my Nana, including my engagement ring. I love them all for their aesthetic value, but the sentiment makes them even more special to me.

• 29 - Numi layers: I am wearing one in most of these pictures, but you can’t see it. They basically changed my life.

• 30 - Red lipstick: Nars Heat Wave is my holy grail red lipstick.

• 31 - Sheer liar lipstick: Urban Decay Sheer Liar is my favorite my-lips-but-better lipstick.
